From April 18 to 20, travel to medieval times!
Hostalric is transformed into an authentic medieval town to host a new edition of the Medieval Fair, an event that recalls the splendor of the historical past of the municipality, which was the capital of the Viscounty of Cabrera.
For three days you can enjoy a great medieval market, shows and activities that will transport you back centuries!
Featured activities
The XXVIII Medieval Fair has a wide program of activities for all ages. Do not miss:
– The ceremony to welcome the viscounts of Cabrera with a large parade of the viscounts and their entourage
– The Witch Dance Show
– The participatory workshop of medieval dances
– Hildegard, tribute to the Sibyl of the Rhine
– Medieval evening with tasting of drinks and typical medieval tapas.
– Fire show
– Guided tour of Hostalric and the Viscounty of Cabrera (prior reservation)
– Demonstration of cuisine in medieval style (prior reservation)
– Grand Tournament of Cavalry
In addition, throughout the day there will be children’s workshops, demonstrations of crafts, historical recreation camp, parades, concerts and the visit of Hostalric Castle, which will expand its offer and opening hours during the Fair.
The Medieval Market
The old town of Hostalric becomes a large craft and food market, where you can find authentic sausages, artisan sweets, cheeses and a varied gastronomic offer.
The stops are located along Carrer Raval and Carrer Major, from the Torre dels Frares to the Porta de Barcelona.
Practical informations and car parks
Parking by motorhome
Hostalric City Council will enable a parking area for motorhomes (without services) in the sports area. Prior reservation is essential through this form. Places are limited and will be assigned in strict order of registration.
Car parks
To facilitate access to the Fair, free parking will be enabled in various parts of the municipality:
– Municipal sports area (ZEM)
– Train Station
– Other enabled areas
A shuttle train service will be enabled to facilitate access for people who park in the municipal sports area (ZEM), being able to travel to the school square, the starting point of the Fair, with the link train. This service costs 2€ per journey.
