The Castle

Hostalric played a key role in the Peninsular War, facilitating the entry of food during the siege of Girona and obstructing the passage of enemy troops. This explains why the French wanted to take the town.
Hostalric Castle is built on a stone hill of basaltic origin. There is evidence that a fortification already existed there in 1145, but the castle that has survived to this day was built in the 18th century.
Hostalric castle has different spaces available for hire where different acts and events can be hosted.
